On Monday 19th June, Canadian Lead Primary School was fortunate to be visited by athletes representing the Sri Chinmoy  International Peace Run on its journey around Australia, from Brisbane to Adelaide. The Peace run is a global torch relay that unites thousands of communities and millions of people in over 100 countries. The aim of the Peace run is to spread goodwill and peace among people of all nations. All of our students were able to hold the torch and we followed the athletes as the travelled around our school. Our students with the support of ES staff member, Fiona Dodd created a whole school artwork that was presented to the athletes and will be taking to Rome for the closing ceremony of the peace run. The key message to emerge from this opportunity was that Peace starts in the heart of every child, similarly to our school motto of developing the head, heart and hands of every student.
